The office facilitates a program called “Career Conversations” by inviting professionals to the campus who are working in a variety of health-related occupations. USP students have the opportunity to interface with these individuals who share insights about their individual work environments.

Every fall and spring, two Annual USP Career Fairs take place on campus to provide students with the opportunity to meet with employers representing many different areas of the health care industry. During these two events, there are also career seminars to provide information about the various career options. USP students can meet with employers and utilize their networking skills for future employment opportunities. During the year, there is also a Graduate and Professional School Information Fair attended by admission representatives of various graduate and professional schools. The representatives come to campus to speak with USP talent about graduate and professional school admissions.

USP is also home to the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists (PSHSP) Pharmacy Placement Office, located in the Woodland Building, Rm 2. The PSHSP Placement Office provides an electronic job board, www.usip.edu/placement with job postings updated on a weekly basis. Links are also available to job search engines related to the various majors and health care disciplines.

Together with the USP Department of Career Services, every January, the PSHSP Placement Office cohosts the Annual January Recruitment Program for all USP graduating students. This event brings recruiters to the campus to interview soon-to-be graduates for full-time career opportunities upon graduation.

Students are encouraged to make use of these services to maximize their future career potential.
