PP 549 - Advanced Pediatric Pharmacotherapy


This course is designed to enhance the students‘ knowledge and develop skills for the management of neonatal and pediatric pharmacotherapy. Principles governing optimal drug therapy, such as pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug delivery, and assessment of neonatal and pediatric patients will be reviewed. Selected pediatric diseases will be discussed with emphasis on pathophysiology, therapeutics, and evaluation and monitoring of diseases and treatment. Problem-solving and decision-making skills will be focused through patient case presentations and discussions utilizing review articles and primary literature.
