ST 335 - Statistics for Clinical Trials The randomized control clinical trial has become the gold standard scientific method for the evaluation of pharmaceuticals, biologics, devices, procedures, and diagnostic tests. Statistics play an essential role throughout any clinical trial, from planning to conducting interim analysis to final analysis and reporting. Statistics are used to help identify the specific questions to be tested and the appropriate outcome to measure, to determine adequate sample size, to specify the randomization procedure, to establish a safety monitoring plan, and to detail the final analysis plan.
