DS 321 - Data Privacy and Security As more and more information (data) is digitized, the importance of ensuring the safety and confidentiality of data grows exponentially. This course introduces the basic methods to protect data. Specific topics covered in the course include data anonymization and de-identification, methods to preserve data privacy, generating synthetic data, and using data aggregation. At the end of the course, you will explore regulations designed to protect data, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and System and Organization Controls (SOC).
